Status help

What does your grant status mean?

Use this guide to understand common results. Check your personal result only on the official service.

Open official status service

Protect your information. This website does not provide a status checker because that would require private information. Never enter your ID number on an unfamiliar website.

Pending

Your application is still being checked.

What to do: Wait for the result and check again on the official service. Do not submit duplicate applications.

Approved

Your application was approved for the month shown.

What to do: Check whether a payment date appears. Payment dates can differ from person to person.

Declined

The checks found a reason you did not qualify for that month.

What to do: Read the reason carefully. If it is wrong, use the official appeal service within the stated deadline.

Referred

The application needs an extra identity or fraud-risk check.

What to do: Follow only instructions on an official .gov.za page. Never pay someone to clear this status.

Bank details pending

Payment details have not been supplied or verified yet.

What to do: Use the official service to add or check your payment method. Never share your PIN.

Identity verification failed

The personal details did not match government records.

What to do: Check that your names and ID details match Home Affairs records, then follow the official correction process.
